Our saffron comes from northeastern Iran and reaches consumer tables through the Tehran Stock Exchange.

Harvesting takes place in the fall, usually in October or November, and for centuries saffron has been considered the most expensive spice in the world. 90 to 120 thousand saffron flowers, Latin Crocus sativus, are needed for 1 kg of pepper. Of these, 270 to 360 thousand bars are carefully plucked and they are divided into five categories according to quality and length, of which Premium super negin is the most valuable.

The use of saffron is wide ranging from seasoning different types of meat, through coloring rice, risotto and pasta. It is also used in cocktails, confectionery, tea and other beverages.
