BrainMax Prenatal Complex, Prenatal Vitamins – 90 Capsules
Product detailed description
Prenatal Complex: Prenatal Vitamins Your Body Can Actually Use
Pregnancy is the one period in life when the body builds an entire new organism while keeping itself in shape at the same time. Requirements for some nutrients rise by tens of percent. But be careful, not every prenatal vitamin is the same.
Cheap supplements rely on synthetic forms, which are only a half-finished product for the body. It has to convert them in the liver first and only then can it use the result. In a large share of women this step does not run as smoothly as you might expect. And most of them have no idea, because they have never been tested.
➤ Prenatal Complex takes consistently the opposite route. Methylfolate instead of folic acid, chelated minerals instead of cheap oxides, beta-carotene instead of synthetic retinol. It costs more. But it is the only way to guarantee that what you swallow, your body genuinely receives.
Who is Prenatal Complex for?
This complex is built for the whole journey, not just for nine months:
- You are planning a baby: ideally start 3 months before conception, so your body has time to build up reserves.
- You are pregnant: it covers the increased demands, including the stretch in the first trimester when nausea shrinks your diet down to the bare minimum.
- You are breastfeeding: the need for some nutrients does not drop after birth, and for several of them it actually keeps rising.
Folic acid in pregnancy: why methylfolate specifically?
Folic acid is the most talked-about nutrient of the entire pregnancy. Folate contributes to maternal tissue growth during pregnancy, takes part in the process of cell division and in normal amino acid synthesis. In other words, in processes running at full speed often before you even know you are pregnant.
The form used is L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, exactly the shape the body converts ordinary folic acid into using the MTHFR enzyme. You get it ready-made, at a dose of 800 µg per day.
➤ The result is a form your body can use regardless of how well your MTHFR enzyme works.
Iron and magnesium that won't upset your digestion
Blood volume rises by tens of percent during pregnancy and the need for iron rises with it. Iron is also the thing women most often end up dealing with after their first blood test, and unfortunately the thing cheap supplements get most wrong. Sulphate forms can give your digestion a hard time.
Prenatal Complex contains 27 mg of iron as bisglycinate, bound to the amino acid glycine. It passes through the intestinal wall like a knife through butter and is considerably gentler on the stomach. Iron contributes to normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, to normal oxygen transport in the body and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
The same principle applies to magnesium. 200 mg of bisglycinate does not have the laxative effect of the magnesium oxide found in supermarket multivitamins. It contributes to normal muscle function, to the normal functioning of the nervous system and to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth.
Synergy that makes sense
Prenatal Complex is not just a pile of substances thrown into a capsule. The individual components deliberately work together:
- Liposomal vitamin C + iron: vitamin C increases iron absorption, which is why both are in the same capsule rather than in two separate bottles taken at different times of day.
- Vitamin D3 + K2 MK-7: D3 contributes to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, K2 to the maintenance of normal bones. They work best together. The form used is the patented all-trans K2VITAL DELTA, with considerably higher stability than common mixed MK-7.
- Zinc + copper in balance: long-term use of zinc on its own lowers copper levels. This complex keeps the two in a safe ratio.
- Iodine from organic seaweed: it contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function and to normal growth in children. From organic kelp, not synthetic iodide.
- CDP choline 100 mg: the active form of choline, a precursor of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Usually missing entirely from ordinary prenatal vitamins.
- Active B vitamins: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 as P5P, B12 as methylcobalamin and biotin. They contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
100% laboratory verified
With food supplements it is common for the manufacturer to rely on a certificate from the raw material supplier, while nobody ever measures the finished product. For Prenatal Complex, the content of active substances was tested in the finished product by an independent accredited laboratory.
➤ What is on the label is genuinely in the capsule. Measured values differ from the declared ones only within standard analytical tolerance.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
Take 3 capsules daily, ideally with food. You can take them all at once or split them into two or three doses across the day, whichever suits your stomach. If swallowing capsules is difficult, which is hardly unusual in pregnancy, you can empty the capsule into water or a smoothie. The taste is distinctly vitamin-like, so bear that in mind. One bottle lasts 30 days.

Frequently asked questions about prenatal vitamins
Ideally at the planning stage, around 3 months before conception. That gives your body time to build up stores of folate, iron and other nutrients before demand rises. If you are already pregnant and only starting now, no harm done, simply start today. No. The daily dose contains 800 µg of folate in the active methylfolate form, which covers the increased requirement in pregnancy. A separate supplement would only push the dose up needlessly. The one exception is when your doctor specifically recommends a higher intake. The complex does not contain omega-3 fatty acids, they simply would not fit into the capsules. Yet maternal intake of DHA contributes to the normal brain development of the foetus and breastfed infants, with the beneficial effect obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg DHA in addition to the recommended daily intake of omega-3 for adults. A DHA supplement from fish oil or algae is therefore worth adding. Nothing else is needed. Yes. The formula is designed for the whole period from planning a pregnancy through pregnancy to breastfeeding. The need for some nutrients does not drop after birth, and for several of them it keeps rising. The complex contains iodine in an amount matching the needs of pregnant women. If you are being treated for a thyroid condition, discuss the appropriate daily iodine intake with your endocrinologist or gynaecologist. Depending on the specific diagnosis, a higher intake may be desirable or, on the contrary, unsuitable. The ratios are set precisely with these interactions in mind. Zinc is balanced by a corresponding amount of copper so that long-term use does not lead to a copper deficiency, and vitamin C is present at a level that actually supports iron absorption. There is therefore no need to separate the components or space them out. When should I start taking prenatal vitamins?
