Kanna powder (Latin: Sceletium tortuosum) is a succulent that commonly grows in South Africa. It is a succulent herb of the Aizoaceae family, has short stems and fleshy leaves, blooms with pale yellow to yellow-orange flowers. The fruit is a capsule with reddish-brown, kidney-shaped seeds. The use of kanna by African indigenous people has been known for centuries. We use kanna as a remedy to quench thirst and hunger, but also to improve our mood. Thanks to its properties, Kanna is now finding application in the treatment of mental health problems, both in the countries of origin, in America and beyond.
Research on the ingredients and their effects is ongoing and their wider use is likely in the future.
It is Kanna stored in capsules with a capacity of 0.7-0.8g per capsule.
