Traditional Meaning and Use of Tepi

Tepi (Rapé blower for two people) originates from Amazonian shamanic traditions, where it is considered a symbol of trust, sharing, and mutual purification. Unlike Kuripé, which allows for self-application, Tepi creates a sacred bridge between two people during the ceremony. How to use Tepi?

A small amount of Rapé is placed into the tip of the tool. The applying person places one end of the Tepi to the recipient's nostril and disperses the powder with a gentle, controlled exhale. The entire ritual should take place in peace, with a clearly set intention and mutual trust. After each use, gently clean the Tepi and store it in a dry, clean place.
